I am not sure if I made a new goal or not in reading books, but I did finish this book that contains just over 400 pages in less than 3 days. I. Could. Not. Put. It. Down. I was so engaged in the book that I just wanted to know what happened next. Needless to say, I loved the book. I just saw that the movie is coming out at the end of the month. I can't wait to go see it. I am sure that the movie will not even compare to the book, but it's worth a shot. I guess I'm just waiting for the day that someone will actually stick to the story line of the book. I mean, hello?! If you have that big of an audience that is taking hours of their lives reading it, they don't want to be disappointed when you've changed the story line! I'll update you later on the movie portion. Below you will find the synopsis of the book but you can click here and actually read parts of the book if you want, brought to you by Barnes and Noble. =]
Seventeen year old Veronica "Ronnie" Miller's life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Wilmington, North Carolina. Three years later, she remains angry and alienated from her parents, especially her father...until her mother decides it would be in everyone's best interest if she spent the summer in Wilmington with him. Ronnie's father, a former concert pianist and teacher, is living a quiet life in the beach town, immersed in creating a work of art that will become the centerpiece of a local church. The tale that unfolds is an unforgettable story of love on many levels--first love, love between parents and children -- that demonstrates, as only a Nicholas Sparks novel can, the many ways that love can break our hearts...and heal them.
